strength training will tone Dem Bones

Not long ago, the idea of reaching middle age seems daunting as you consider that "the hill." People between the ages of 40 and 60 were expected to give youth activities and commence business reaching its ready for the rocking chair. Today, thanks to a better understanding on exercise and nutrition for the prevailing view is that the bar for the definition of the median age has increased.

For many people, 50 years has become the new 40. But the crisis of age for bone health is much earlier, usually hitting his victim between the ages of 25 and 30, when the body stops bone formation and bone density begins to decrease slowly, leading to an increased risk of breakage.

Osteoporosis a disease where bones become brittle and break easily is one of the most devastating diseases and chronic common in the world. More than 200 million people worldwide have some level of disease caused by a growing silent epidemic of hip, vertebrae, wrist and other fractures related to osteoporosis each year.

It affects one in every two women over 50 (more than breast cancer) and one in five men (more than prostate cancer) worldwide. These people at risk that is maintained at least one fracture in their lifetime. Each year in the U.S. only, $ 20,000,000,000 is spent for the treatment of these fractures and for the year 2020, experts predict that the cost will exceed $ 60 billion.

Advertisers spend millions driving home the message needs more calcium for stronger bones and supermarkets are filled with a confusing array of calcium supplements. But will any of these calcium pills really help to the bone?

The U.S., England and Sweden have completed seven studies of long-term population that does not show reductions in fracture risk bone calcium intake increased. So we believe that calcium is the most popular pill do not need? Is it a concept all about making money and the strengthening of our bones?

Bone health should be given priority. However, only 10% of the nearly $ 20 billion in annual costs associated with osteoporosis – the bone-weakening disease that often leaves fractures and disability in its wake-is spent on prevention in the U.S..

Fortunately for all of us, however, simple steps can optimize bone health throughout our lives and most importantly – from a proper exercise regimen. Because bone is living tissue which renews itself continuously, it requires regular stimulation of vigorous physical activity. Like muscles, bones should be used regularly or to weaken and deteriorate.

Without the intervention on our part we begin to lose muscle mass and strength of our half of 20. As the muscles and bones work together hand in hand, we also lose when we lose each other. One of the most effective ways to reduce pressure on the weakening of the bones is to increase our muscle strength with strength training exercise.

Making this kind of exercise the body signals to stimulate bone formation to strengthen and rebuild the bones in response to increased resistance of the muscles being exercised. This activity also builds muscle strength, coordination and balance, which can help prevent falls and related fractures.

No matter what your age with the proper exercise strength training, almost anyone can slow or even prevent them from ever becoming the backbone of middle age. About the Author
